ELEGANT TOUCH

Keen to cover up my currently very short nails, I purchased these Elegant Touch Totally Bare Coffin 007 Nails. So am I better off visiting a beautician and paying £20 or more for a set of acrylics?
Image features a charm bracelet from Pandora and nude clutch from H&M (£12.99)
With 48 nails and approximately 2 uses per packs, this specific box costs £4.95 from Boots and includes a set of instructions, 10 different sized nails, a buffer and a bottle of glue. There's also a little orange cap with a pin inside to break the seal of the glue.

The packaging is really simple, very clean cut. I particularly love the contrast between the white and turquoise, and the silver card behind the displayed nails highlights them further.

To be honest, I thought the nails displayed individually on the front of the box were the only sizes available, but after spreading out the nails and testing out which ones were the best fit, I was pleasantly surprised. Whatever your natural nails are like, you're bound to find a set that look great! From my experience, you are most likely to find that one of your hands will need a smaller set of nails than the other; don't assume both will be the same! I also found the smallest nail size too big for my little finger; I had to cut and file it down to adjust the fit.

So to attach these nails, it was extremely simple. The instructions are very easy to understand. Once you've laid out the nails for each hand, I cut/buffed my own natural nails, used nail vanish remover to remove any oils/moisture, then gently poured a layer of glue over one nail before placing each before the cuticle and pressing down to secure.

You are advised not to get glue on the cuticle or around the skin surrounding the nail. However if this does happen, it's nothing to worry abut, after washing repeatedly, it's no longer an issue. I would still be cautious!

After securing, I cut and filed the nails to reduce the length and alter the shape. To finish off, I applied Rimmel London's 60 Seconds Nail Varnish in White before covering with a clear top coat. Obviously, you can choose whatever nail varnish you have available.

So what's the verdict? I love them; you can change the shape, add any nail varnish and the options are endless. Unfortunately, they're not going to last forever, however they will last for a particular special event. If you don't have a lot of money after you've bought an outfit, shoes etc, they'd be perfect and they will probably take about 1 hour to apply and paint!

I probably didn't apply enough glue to some of my natural nails which is why they started to fall off within a couple of days. I can confirm after wearing for over a week now, all the nails on my right hand remain in tact!

For removing, it does recommend buying the Get 'Em Off Remover, however I may end up using a remover I already own.

Overall, I would definitely give these nails a big thumbs up and I would 100% repurchase!
